The Fiat Cassino Plant is owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Although it is located in the town of Piedimonte San Germano, in the province of Frosinone in Lazio , the factory is commonly known as "the Cassino plant". == History == The plant was opened in 1972 and covers an area of over 2,000,000 square meters. All started with the assembly of the Fiat 126, which remained the only model in production until 1978, when he inaugurated the new line dedicated to the Fiat Ritmo. In that year it was installed sophisticated "ROBOGATE" of Comau, which allowed a high automation in the production cycle. In 1983 started the production the Regata that alongside with Ritmo. A profound renewal of the factory took place in 1988 with the investment of two trillion lire and the introduction of the Fiat Tipo , with which Fiat also inaugurated a new production philosophy in order to increase production and reduce costs. So it was also introduced family Tempra (sedan, wagon and van) that shared much with the type of components. The production of the two ended between 1995 and 1996 when it was introduced a new family of medium Fiat: the Bravo-Brava , Marea and Marengo . In 2000, the plant underwent a total renovation: the production lines of the models Bravo-Brava, Marea and Marengo, are dismantled and replaced by new lines dedicated to the Fiat Stilo , the system also "ROBOGATE" is replaced by the new production system "Open ROBOGATE "which assures a higher efficiency and precision in the assembly of cars. The investment was more than 700 million Euros, and in 2003, the 35th birthday of the plant, was produced the car number 6,000,000. In 2005 next to the production line of the Stilo it joins that of Croma which remained until 2010 and which allowed the plant to emerge from a crisis that began in 2003. Between 2007 and 2008 were installed the production lines of the new Fiat Bravo and Lancia Delta (who shared the platform and mechanics) dismantled in 2014. From March 2010 onwards, it was set up the production line of the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta . In 2014 the plant was chosen for the revival of the ' Alfa Romeo .
